(CASTELLANO) Esta nueva entrega de Monster es tan impactante como difícil de digerir. La producción es impecable, la ambientación de los años 50 y el tono enfermizo están logrados con precisión quirúrgica, pero lo que cuenta es tan desagradable que cuesta aguantar algunos episodios sin apartar la mirada. Lo que en otras series de Ryan Murphy era fascinación por lo oscuro, aquí se convierte en pura repulsión. Charlie Hunnam está excelente, entregado a un papel que exige una frialdad casi inhumana. Su interpretación transmite esa mezcla de delirio, soledad y podredumbre moral que definió a Ed Gein, aunque la serie intenta lo imposible: que el espectador entienda a un ser que no puede —ni debe— inspirar empatía. Y ahí radica su principal error: cuanto más se esfuerza por humanizarlo, más se aleja de la verdad. La serie no se corta en mostrar los horrores de su vida y sus crímenes. No hay espacio para el alivio ni para la ambigüedad, solo una sucesión de imágenes grotescas que rozan el gore más realista. Por momentos parece más una autopsia visual que una ficción, y aunque su intención sea psicológica, acaba siendo puramente sensorial, casi física. Es un trabajo valiente y muy bien hecho, pero excesivo para la mayoría del público. Ni su ambición artística ni su cuidada factura logran justificar el malestar que deja. Quien busque entender la mente de un asesino no encontrará respuestas aquí, solo el reflejo distorsionado de un monstruo que nunca debió salir de las sombras. The production is flawless, the 1950s setting perfectly recreated, and the sickly tone maintained with surgical precision. But what it shows is so deeply unpleasant that it’s almost unbearable to watch. What Ryan Murphy once turned into a fascinating exploration of darkness now feels like sheer revulsion. Charlie Hunnam is excellent, fully immersed in a role that demands an almost inhuman detachment. His performance captures the mix of madness, isolation, and moral decay that defined Ed Gein, though the series attempts the impossible — to make us understand someone who cannot, and should not, inspire empathy. That’s where it falters most: the more it tries to humanize him, the less convincing it becomes. The show doesn’t shy away from horror. It depicts every atrocity with raw realism, until the violence feels more like a dissection than a story. Despite its psychological ambition, it turns into something visceral, almost physical. It’s a bold and beautifully made work, but too extreme for most viewers. Its artistic ambition and production quality can’t outweigh the discomfort it provokes. Anyone looking to understand the mind of a killer won’t find answers here — only the distorted reflection of a monster who should have remained in the shadows.
